Action: Proabition of Solar, Wind Farms
WAYNE COUNTY, OHIO, Wednesday, May 3, 2023 — Many citizens may not realize that our county is being targeted for large-scale solar facilities that would have a major negative impact on many hundreds of acres of prime agricultural lands. Today, the Wayne County Commissioners are giving notice of our plans to consider action on Wednesday, June 7, in our regular meeting at 9 a.m. that would prohibit large solar facilities, economically significant wind farms, and large wind farms throughout the unincorporated areas of Wayne County to the extent authorized by Ohio law. We are required to give notice at least 30 days before taking the action we are considering. That notice is being posted and mailed as required by Ohio law.
