Dog Jog to Benefit Shelter

WAYNE COUNTY, OH, Apr. 30, 2021 — PAWS (promoting animal welfare for the Wayne County Dog Shelter) is sponsoring a dog-friendly 5k fundraising event to benefit the Wayne County Dog Shelter.

The race will take place on May 29 and start at 8 a.m. on the County Line Trail at the Creston Police Station, 120 Brooklyn Ave., Creston. A leisurely-paced walk will begin at approximately 9:15 a.m. for those who do not wish to participate in the run.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a virtual option is available for those who do not wish to attend in person. Because of differing weather conditions and terrain, virtual participants will not be eligible to place, but they will still get Dog Jog Swag and may complete their 5k anytime between May 23 and May 29.

DETAILS:

Date: May 29, 2021

Time: 5k Race starts at 8 a.m. with wave starts. The Fun Walk will begin as soon as the 5k is completed – Approximately 9:15 a.m.

Location: County Line Trail starting from the Creston Police Station – 120 Brooklyn Ave, Creston, OH 44217.

Course Route: The course will be a simple, flat, beautiful, and enjoyable out and back on the County Line Trail! Click HERE for a course map.

COST: 

5k Dog Jog Early Registration (thru May 9) – $25 + Processing Fees

5k Dog Jog Late Registration (May 10 – May 28) – $35 + Processing Fees

    **5k Dog Jog Registrations include an event t-shirt, chip-timed race, finisher’s medal, post-race snacks/drink, and a chance at awards.

Fun Walk Early Registration (thru May 9) – $20 + Processing Fees

Fun Walk Late Registration (May 10 – May 28) – $25 + Processing Fees

    **Fun Walk Registrations include a race shirt and post-race snacks/drink

 VIRTUAL 5k Registration (Thru May 28) – $25 + Processing Fees

    **Virtual 5k Dog Jog Registrations include an event t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and bandana for your dog (if applicable) mailed directly to your home so you can participate remotely.
