The Wayne County Commissioners and Wayne County Airport along with the Shreve American Legion Post 67, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1081 and Rolling Thunder are joining in an effort to bring the Tuskegee Airmen Exhibit and Museum to the Wayne County Airport. The Exhibit will be open to the public May 9-12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and May 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Exhibit will highlight the extraordinary achievements of this organization that contributed so much to the victory in the European Theater. The exhibit consists of a 53′ Trailer which houses the museum and a movie theater with the theme Rise Above and is designed to encourage all individuals to reach their highest potential.
An added event to the museum is a genuine World War II Era P51 Mustang which was the main aircraft used by the Airmen. The Exhibit will provide an educational benefit for young people and adults alike and it is our hope that schools groups will use this as an opportunity for our children to learn. There is no admission charge for the event so that all may enjoy its benefit.
