Smart takes helm of BMV

WAYNE COUNTY, OHIO, Sept. 8, 2022 — Deputy Registrar Hollie Smart began operating the Wooster location of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) on Sept. 6, 2022. The bureau remains located at 200 Vanover St. Ste. #3. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

A 27-year American Automobile Association (AAA) employee, Smart, a Massillon native, has extensive knowledge and experience in the transportation industry and views operating the BMV as a natural progression of her career. She places customer service high on her list of priorities.

“Working with people is very rewarding,” Smart said. “I have dealt with customers in many different circumstances; I will never hesitate to talk to them and get them the help they need. I am excited to get started.”

Smart began her AAA career at the age of 16 and attributes her appreciation of exceptional customer service to that organization.

“I am driven to be successful, and I feel that if you have a happy work environment, people that come through the door will take notice of that,” she said. “I want people to realize that we are not robots, we have a positive personality, and we are here to help them.”
