BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Scott Wiggam
Scott Wiggam is married to Kathryn (Cochran) and they have three children, George age 8, Cal age 7 and Lauren age 3. Scott was elected to the Board of Wayne County Commissioners in November of 2004.

During this term in office, Scott has served on several countywide boards including:

  • Wayne Economic Development Council

  • Wayne County Planning Commission

  • Community Corrections Planning Board

  • Ag Success Team

Scott has also represented Wayne County on several multi-county boards including:

  • Northeast Ohio Trade & Economic Consortium / Joint Office of Economic Development

  • Northeast Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization

  • Vice Chair, Medway General Assembly

  • Chair, Ashland-Holmes-Wayne Workforce Area, Chief Elected Officials

  • Executive Board Member, Crossroads Resource Conservation and Development Council

  • Multi County Juvenile Attention Center Board of Directors & Board of Trustees

  • Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District, Board of Directors

Scott earned a B.A. in Biblical Theology from Asbury College and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Akron. He has served four years in the Air Force where he received the Commendation Medal.  While at the University of Akron, Scott worked as a teaching and research assistant and interned in the office of Ohio Senator Mike DeWine.  Scott served as the lead lobbyist to the U.S. House of Representatives for the Christian Coalition of America Inc. Scott also owned and operated a family restaurant before serving as County Commissioner.  Scott currently serves on the Wooster YMCA Board, Triway Soccer Association and the Wooster Area National Day of Prayer Team for 2006 and 2007.  He and Kathryn are members of Shreve United Methodist Church. << Back to list of Commissioners
