BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Ann M. Obrecht
Ann Obrecht is currently serving in her fourth year as Wayne County Commissioner. As commissioner she has worked toward improving the quality of life for Wayne County citizens. Ann has advocated for fiscally conservative government spending, retaining and recruiting quality businesses, and preserving and expanding agriculture.

During this term in office Ann has represented Wayne County citizens on several local boards including:

  • Wayne County Planning Commission
  • Wayne Economic Development Council
  • Wayne County Family and Children First Council-President, Resources Committee
  • Ag Success Team-Chairman
  • Justice Center Board
  • Fund for Our Economic Future-Wayne County Support Team
Multi-county boards and committees that Obrecht is a member of include:
  • Northeast Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization-currently serving as President
  • Multi-County Juvenile Attention Board of Commissioners
  • District 16 Integrating Committee-for Ohio Public Works Projects
  • Stark, Tuscarawas, Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District
  • Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District Project Prioritization
On the state level Ann has been selected to serve on:
  • The Extension Advisory Committee for The Ohio State University
  • The C. William Swank Program in Rural-Urban Policy
Ann received her BS in Education from Ashland University. She is a member of Wayne County Farm Bureau, Wooster Rotary, and St. John Lutheran Church. Ann is a 2003 Leadership Wooster graduate.Ann and her husband Jim have been married for 32 years. They own and operate their own business, a dairy farm in southwestern Wayne County. They began the business in 1974 as a part-time venture and it has grown to a 200 cow dairy. They have three grown children. << Back to list of Commissioners
